held less and less of a charge. I constantly use the phone, especially in data mode, and the original battery progressively (regressively). (Incidentally, I don't know how applicable my battery life grief is to later Motorola Q models, so check reviews of the later Qs before judging their battery life based on my experience). Here's to hoping that I replace the phone before THIS battery wears out. For various reasons, I have not upgraded the first-generation Motorola Q phone that I received in October 2006. While the phone mostly continues to work well, the same cannot be said for the batteries. While I upgraded to the high-capacity battery, that eventually wore out also. The battery that I just purchased is my third battery for this phone, and I immediately noticed an improvement in phone battery life.
I think it has to do more with my phone and less with this battery. This is so much better than the battery that came with the phone; however I still have problems with my phone holding a charge for any period of time beyond a day. That being said I have been using this battery for over a year and it still holds a charge as well as it did initially and MUCH better than the smaller battery that came with the phone. If you are having problems with your phone holding a charge this is at least a partial answer if returning the phone and getting something other than Motorola is not an option.
If must, then you should buy the extended life battery - it is an absolute necessity. Now at least the phone is useful, a dramatic improvement sadly. I bought this battery for my wife. It extended the terrible life of the phone from a few hours to a day or more without charging. Moral: don't buy the Motorola Q.
It's a battery. (What more do you want from me.). Guess what. It works.
The cover works fine, but looks hideous in anything other than the Verizon Q (Sprint uses a rubberized gray that looks and feels much better then the toy-like silver Verizon Q, whichever network works best is a matter of preference in the area it's used). Standard battery won't last a whole day with emails and voice. Rated 4/5 for lack of colors. Battery works as it should. New Qs have the extended battery as default, so Moto realized it was needed. I've seen black covers with non-Moto batteries, but we already tried one for slightly less coin, but performance wasn't as good.
